How to Create and Send Campaigns
Campaigns are how you proactively reach out to your customers with offers, updates, and personalized messages. A well-timed campaign can drive foot traffic, boost sales, and strengthen your relationship with your audience.
1Mint Club's campaign wizard walks you through five clear steps: naming your campaign, choosing recipients, creating content (with optional AI assistance), designing your email, and reviewing before sending or scheduling. This guide covers every step in detail so you can launch campaigns with confidence.
Before You Start
- An active 1Mint Club partner account
- At least one customer or customer segment in your database
- At least one offer created (optional, but needed for AI-generated content)
- Campaign limits depend on your plan — check your plan details in Settings > Billing
Step 1: Campaign Details
Start a new campaign
Navigate to "Campaigns" in your sidebar and click "Create Campaign." This opens the campaign creation wizard, a clean 5-step interface that guides you through the entire process.
Enter campaign name and description
Give your campaign a descriptive internal name like "March Weekend Special" or "Spring Loyalty Boost." This name is for your reference only — customers won't see it. The description field is optional but helps your team understand the campaign's purpose when reviewing past campaigns.
Use a consistent naming convention for your campaigns. Something like "[Month] [Goal] [Audience]" (e.g., "Mar Retention VIPs") makes it easy to find and analyze campaigns later.
Step 2: Choose Recipients
Select your recipient type
You have two options: "Customer Segment" or "Individual Customers." Segments are pre-defined groups you've created (like "Frequent Visitors" or "New Customers"), while individual selection lets you hand-pick specific customers for this campaign.
Choose a segment or select individuals
If you chose "Customer Segment," select from your existing segments. You'll see the member count for each segment, helping you gauge the campaign's reach. If you chose "Individual Customers," use the search field to find and select specific customers one by one.
For your first campaign, try targeting a small segment (20–50 customers) to test your messaging. Once you see results, scale up to larger audiences.
Step 3: Create Content
Choose your content source
1Mint Club offers two approaches: "AI-Generated Offer Email" and "Custom Email Content." The AI option is incredibly powerful — select one of your existing offers and the system generates a complete, professional email promoting that offer. The custom option gives you a blank canvas to write whatever you want.
Generate AI content (if chosen)
Select an offer from your list and click "Generate Email Content." The AI analyzes your offer details — title, description, discount, validity — and crafts a compelling email with a clear call to action. The generated content is fully editable, so you can adjust the tone, add personal touches, or modify any section.
Use AI-generated content as a starting point, then add your personal brand voice. The AI handles structure and persuasion; you add the authenticity that makes your business unique.
Write custom content (if chosen)
If you went the custom route, you have complete freedom. Write your email content in the provided text editor. Think about what matters to your audience: a compelling opening, clear value proposition, and a strong call to action.
Step 4: Design Your Email
Set your email subject line
The subject line is arguably the most important part of your campaign — it determines whether your email gets opened. Write something specific, intriguing, and relevant. Avoid generic subjects like "Newsletter" or "Update." Instead, try "Your exclusive 20% weekend deal inside" or "You've earned something special."
Keep subject lines under 50 characters for optimal mobile display. Use numbers, questions, or urgency (but never fake urgency) to boost open rates.
Edit and preview your email body
The editor shows your email content with formatting options. Use the preview toggle to see exactly how your email will appear to recipients. Check for typos, broken formatting, and overall readability. A good email is scannable — use short paragraphs, clear headings, and a prominent call-to-action button.
Step 5: Review and Schedule
Review your campaign summary
The final step shows you everything at a glance: campaign name, recipient count, email subject, and content preview. This is your last chance to catch any errors before the campaign goes live. Review every detail carefully.
Schedule or send immediately
You have two options: schedule the campaign for a future date and time, or create it as a draft to send manually later. If scheduling, pick a date and time when your audience is most likely to engage (typically mid-morning on weekdays for B2C businesses).
Send your campaign
For draft campaigns, go to the campaign detail page and click "Send." A confirmation dialog ensures you don't send accidentally. Once confirmed, the campaign is dispatched to all recipients. You can track performance (opens, clicks) on the campaign detail page.
After sending, resist the urge to check stats immediately. Give it 24–48 hours for a meaningful picture of engagement. Most emails are opened within the first 4 hours, but stragglers can trickle in over days.
