How to Upload and Manage Your Customers

1Mint Club TeamMarch 3, 202610 min read

Your customer database is the foundation of everything you do on 1Mint Club — from sending targeted campaigns to tracking loyalty points. Whether you're starting fresh or migrating from another system, getting your customers into 1Mint Club is straightforward.

This guide covers three ways to add customers: one at a time through a quick modal, in bulk via CSV or Excel import, and through the text-paste upload feature. We'll also cover how to search, filter, export, and view detailed customer profiles.

Before You Start

  • An active 1Mint Club partner account
  • Your customer data ready (names, emails, and/or phone numbers)
  • For bulk import: a CSV or Excel file with proper column headers

Add a Single Customer

1

Navigate to the Customers page

Click "Customers" in your dashboard sidebar. This page is your central customer hub — you'll see tabs for All Customers, Uploaded Customers, Engaged Customers, and Segments.

2

Open the Add Customer modal

Click the "Add Customer" button in the top-right area of the page. A modal dialog will appear with a clean, simple form for entering customer details.

3

Fill in the customer details

Enter the customer's name (required), email address, and phone number. You must provide at least an email or phone number — this is how 1Mint Club identifies and communicates with the customer. Once filled in, click "Add Customer" to save.

Pro Tip

Collecting both email and phone gives you the most flexibility for campaigns later. Email is great for detailed content, while phone numbers enable SMS notifications.

Import Customers via CSV or Excel

4

Prepare your import file

Create a CSV or Excel file (.xlsx, .xls) with your customer data. Your file must include column headers that the system can recognize. The required columns are: "full_name" (or "name") and either "email" or "phone_number" (or "phone"). You can also include optional columns like "birthday," "anniversary," and any custom fields you've configured.

Pro Tip

Download our sample CSV template from the import section to see the exact format. This eliminates any guesswork about column naming.

5

Start the import process

On the Customers page, look for the "Import" section or button. Click it and select your CSV or Excel file from your computer. The system will parse your file and validate each row automatically.

6

Review validation results

After parsing, 1Mint Club shows you a summary: how many rows were found, how many are valid, and how many have errors. Common validation issues include missing names, missing email/phone, or improperly formatted data. Invalid rows are skipped during import, but you'll see exactly which rows failed and why.

7

Confirm and import

Once you're satisfied with the validation results, confirm the import. Valid customers are sent to the system in batches. You'll see a final summary showing total imported, successful, and failed counts. Any duplicates (matched by email or phone) are automatically handled.

Pro Tip

For large imports (1,000+ customers), the process may take a few moments. Don't navigate away from the page until you see the completion summary.

Upload via Text Paste

8

Switch to the Uploaded Customers tab

On the Customers page, click the "Uploaded Customers" tab. This tab shows customers you've manually added or uploaded, separate from those who engaged organically through your offers.

9

Open the Upload dialog

Click the "Upload" button to open the upload dialog. Here you have two options: choose a CSV file from your computer, or paste CSV-formatted text directly into a text area. The paste option is perfect for quick additions when you have data in a spreadsheet — just copy the cells (including headers) and paste them in.

10

Submit and verify

The system parses your pasted text or uploaded file using the same validation rules as the bulk import. Review the results and confirm to add the customers to your database.

Search, Filter, and Export

11

Search your customer database

Use the search bar at the top of the Customers page to find specific customers. The search works across names, emails, and phone numbers with real-time, debounced results — just start typing and matches appear instantly.

12

Sort and filter columns

Click on any column header to sort by that field (name, email, phone, last visit, visit count, birthday, etc.). Use the filter dropdown to narrow results by specific column values. You can also show or hide columns using the column visibility toggle to customize your view.

Pro Tip

Try sorting by "Last Visit Date" in descending order to quickly identify customers who haven't been in recently — they might be perfect candidates for a re-engagement campaign.

13

Export your customer data

Need your data outside 1Mint Club? Use the Export feature to download your customers as a CSV or Excel file. You can export the current filtered view or your entire customer database. This is useful for backups, reporting, or integrating with other tools.

View Customer Profiles

14

Open a customer's detailed profile

Click on any customer row to open their full profile page. Here you'll find everything about that customer in one place: their profile information, visit history, POS transactions (if you have a POS integration), and loyalty/interaction history.

15

Edit customer information

On the profile page, click "Edit Customer" to update any of their details. The available fields are configured based on your business type through Customer Field Settings in your Settings page. You can also add custom fields for information unique to your business.

Pro Tip

Keep customer profiles up to date. Accurate birthday and anniversary dates enable powerful automated campaigns around those special occasions.

Wrapping Up

You now have a fully populated customer database in 1Mint Club. Whether you added customers one by one or imported thousands from a spreadsheet, they're all ready for engagement. The next step is organizing them into segments for targeted communication. Head over to our guide on "How to Create Customer Segments" to learn how.
